Deep Sea

finally coloured my deep sea entry! Now to give my poor tendinitis ridden hand a break! (sorry but it looks like this years holiday image wont be done untill after christmas!) Happy Holidays! pencil crayon interior colour key. Its not at all what I wanted it to be, but as always, time was short. I originaly intended to paint a moulin rouge-esque stage with dramatic lighting and neon colours. Hopefully I'll do it someday soon though!

Contrasting Character Poses

DONE! finally! I slowly (and i mean SLOWLY) worked on these throughout the week and i'm glad that i dont need to worry about this anymore :) I didnt post the rotations because..well.. rotations are boring!

I also found out that I have tendinitis in my right hand D: Its from over use (due to drawing) but it hasnt gotten too bad so I can take care of it (thank goodness!!) I will definitely impart my wisdom of hand care with all you fellow artists so you can take care of your money makers as well! So far i have been instructed to ice it for 5 minutes before i start a drawing day, 5 minutes after i have finished for the day and ice it as needed in between if the pain is too much! I'm also going for some acupuncture, so i'll tell you all how that goes :s

Storyboard Sneak Peak!

this is a panel from my final story board. I'm still in the process of adding 3 panels to the ending and i should be done soon!

i upped the contrast in photoshop a bit (maybe a little too much...) because the original is a tiny bit too dull for what i wanted to achieve. i wanted to capture the really lush greens of the jungle but it sort of ended up with the colour pallet of a forest.. :p

everyone in class really seemed to enjoy my colour key, so i decided to share it with you all on my blog!

I just want to say thank you to all my followers :) i know 48 isnt A LOT but it makes me happy to think that there are people who actually read my blog and look at my art! I also want to say that i really appreciate all the feedback i get from you guys and its been very motivating for me to see the positive and constructive comments i have received on my work :)

Forest Painting

My first painting assignment for year 2 is finally completed! I included the line art because i like it so much better than the final! The final is done in gouache and i increased the contrast on Photoshop a bit :p

Animation and Beat Boards

because i fell a week behind in animation i only had 2 days to animate this. I had the wave and some of the boat completed but i did alot of it over the weekend :) i'm not one hundred percent satisfied with the animation i produced BUT i am proud of myself for finishing it before the deadline despite all of the other work i had!

also here is one of my beat boards! i'll post them all along with the finished boards in a few weeks!

Another Princess and Jim Hawkins

I drew this a LONG time ago and i've slowly been colouring it in photoshop when i've been bored. i originaly wanted to make a bg for it too so it looked like a movie still, but I dont see that happening anytime soon...

so here is a pretty-fied and Disney-fied version of what i might look like as a disney princess. (an angry and yellow disney princess..... uploading it made the colours change... :s)

ANYWAYS it doesnt look like, me i know.. lol

if anyone wants to give colouring it a try go ahead and let me know!!

I also did a rotation of Jim Hawkins from Disney's Treasure Planet over the summer, just for fun :) I have a few minor things to fix and then i'll upload the whole thing! Theres also a little surprise at the end with morph instead of doing a lip sync :D I cant wait to finish this up!

Mojizu

Recently i joined a character design website called Mojizu. Its really neat! You upload your characters and then other mojizu users vote. if you get enough votes, your moji goes to battle, theres 3 rounds and then a super match! its really neat, and its been a nice motivator for me to do some digital work :)

i didnt exactly watch the tangents in the skull reaper guy... i kind of cringe a little bit when i see it. maybe a reaper man version 2 is on its way! the top one is Grizzly Jack resurrected with some colour! I have yet to put him up on mojizu tho :p

so my computer went all psycho and i lost some files i was working on b/c I'm silly and didn't back them up on my external hardrive.. :( I'm a little depressed right now but I'm sure I'll recover after a little break from this nonsense...

I've learnt an important lesson in all this. computers are lame.

New Toys!

I made some monsters out of unused socks that I had! I actually really love getting socks as presents, but these ones were...interesting. so i flipped them inside out so you cant see the pattern and made them into something cool!

They're made entirely of recycled products, old buttons, socks and they're even stuffed with shredded left over fabrics from my aunt's clothing shop :) If anyone wants to know how to make these, let me know and I'll post a little How To!


These will be sold at my table at the New Bloor Street Festival! I'll post more about it closer to the festival date, and hopefully I'll see you there!
