The Good, The Bad and the Sketchy

Its time to learn to not be afraid of people seeing my "bad" drawings. Thats the lesson i've been learning at my internship! so heres a bunch of drawings (some super rough, some more refined) of my film character! I'm trying to figure out what kind of girl she is, is she girly? is she a tomboy? i'm not sure, but i'm going to keep sketching stuff out and thinking and possibly hanging around my little cousin :)

the character seems girly and smart! Although She does seem a little tomboyish! Love the character designs! :D

She's really cute, I love her mussed up hair! A little messy maybe?

At first I saw your sketches as a thumbnail in my blogger feed, and thought, "oh, cool. Seema posted some character sketches. business as usual" and then I read your description and had to comment, lol.

bad? these may be "rough" but these are great! i know what you mean though, about letting people see the sketches that will never be, but if you want to see bad sketches, you should see some of mine. Mine are incredibly scratchy and loose and sometimes they're just enough so that only I know what to make of them. But if these are the ones you're hesitant about, then that's great because I can see so much in these, especially your thinking and your design sensibility. Maybe one day I'll be brave like you and post some of mine :)

Ah yes! Hang around your cousin. It's amazing how the best inspiration seems to come from life.

Fabulous work, Seema, and wonderful blog! I love the diversity of your characters!

She's kind of a modern day Pippi Longstockings comic nerd.
